Here is a bug that I can relate to: this unidentified dragonfly (Suborder Anisoptera) species was hanging onto chicken wire for what appeared to be dear life. The eyes were a strange off-color purple hued with a surreal blindness that seemed quite real except for the few belying, trepid movements in the face of a giant reverse-lensed monster. The colors that appeared unique compared to most of the dragonflies in the area might have been indicative of a newly emerged and “immature” (teneral) adult. Whatever the case, I kept shooting, and despite its nervous awareness of me, it kept hanging on.
