House spiders (there’s two!) have vanquished the formidable Bold jumping spider, Phidippus audax.

  Thanks, I was quite stunned to find such an amazing scene in the sun porch of all places. But the jumpers pretty much have the run of the house. I was a little disappointed in the jumper to be honest, but in fairness he was outnumbered. I shouldn’t discriminate against spiders anyway, I suppose.

    The battle between bugs often have very surprising turnouts. I would have put my money on the jumper also, due to it’s weight advantage. Perhaps the web spinners are more cunning!
