Finding the Common Way

Flesh flies, family Sarcophagidae, are common enough to dismiss easily, but they are not just an ugly bug if you see their faces!

It is always fun to find a rare subject or a unique circumstance or behavior on display, but it is not going to happen every time. Common subjects like this flesh fly leave something to be desired as often as not, and I have pushed myself into some uninspired shots just to shoot and practice. But sometimes the spirit hits or the fly poses…and there’s something there. If the eyes are open there is chance for the mind to be open, too.

Blow flying its nose? Waving off the last shot? Or having a clean? I say whichever is more fun.
