Okay, no editing unmasterfully overexposed photos in this one. No blend modes or layer masks. Just a Phidippus audax hiding in the shadows of a window frame. This photo is an from summer, a couple years ago, but in the first week of December I saw a P. audax scouting around the same windows. I was unable to shoot it at the time, but it was nice to see, regardless. The past two or three years I have reliably seen one of these jumping spiders come out in December. I think it is a sign for me that, despite the darkness, the light will return; winter will end. Hope lives in a spider. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Just don’t get those jumping spiders in the shower. They scare the blank out of you!
Funny you should mention jumpers in the shwoer, I saved a half-drowned one last fall. I got some pretty good shots out of it, too!
