Little Big Head

tiny tiny wasp on a birch leaf

Little big head: sneaking this tiny wasp into the narrow, narrow depth of field was no small feat!

The smaller they are the bigger they blow up! I was really happy to sneak this tiny, tiny wasp into a shallow depth of field. Working at max/near max magnification, my rough guesstimate (granted from memory) is this guy was no bigger than 2mm. I also heavily cropped this image, not something I usually do, but (and another guess) probably around a 30% crop. I’ve been sniffing around the birch tree here and there, but I’ve yet to notice another one of these neat micro wasps.
