Spider Back Thursday

abdomen of jumping spider

The pattern on the back of the abdomen of a plump (fertile) jumping spider.

I don’t have much today, just this pregnant jumping spider’s lovely abdominal pattern.

    1. That is true. I will say, the jumping spiders I encounter are often on man-made structures like railings and brick walls and windows, which provide sturdy surfaces to brace myself and my camera; so apart from their natural beauty and wonder they are easy quarry compared to many other arthropods. And as far as arthropod photographers go, I’m fairly unoriginal in that I’m a sucker for the big eyes.
