
The female of a mating pair of leaf beetles (family Chrysomeliidae) quite typically of many insects doesn’t waste time getting caught up in the moment; she continues to feed.
Sorry, no groundhog- or Super Bowl-related post today, just more bugs. The iridesence of the beetles’ elytra really makes this photo stand out for me, especially the differing colors of male and female.
