Predator Descending (Wolf Spider, Lycosidae)

A wolf spider (Lycosidae) makes its way down some vegetation.

For some reason (apart from those wolfish wolf spider eyes) I like this one. The photo seems solid but unremarkable, yet it keeps drawing me back. I think it’s the precarious, downward trek that is well-suggested. We’re moving, warily, but forward.

I also had some fun with the black and white version (after the break), in which I did a little extra (nothing earth shattering, mind you) and enjoyed the result.
