Looks like I’m going to need some help figuring this one out. An otherwise nondescript small fly, the big head/eyes really stand out. There are a group of Diptera known as “big-headed flies,” but it doesn’t look like the ones I saw on BugGuide.net. I had a decent crop on this image, if that helps give a sense of how rather small this one was. In any event, a neat little one.
